Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide resources, information and advocacy to assist people with disabilities in overcoming barriers to independent living. By staying true to this mission, and providing a continuum of services and programs, we empower individuals with disabilities to live independently and to create communities that embrace accessibility for everyone.

Accessibility is for Everyone

When we think about accessibility, we often imagine it as a service for individuals with disabilities. But the truth is, accessibility benefits everyone. Mothers with children, aging parents and relatives, young kids, and others benefit from physical access in our community. Unhoused individuals, people experiencing poverty or marginalization benefit from programmatic and social accessibility.
An accessible community is a more efficient, thoughtful, and welcoming community for all its members.The work CPWD does to promote accessibility and equity for people with disabilities expands to support many people in our community. By supporting CPWD, you’re helping to remove barriers that limit potential—not just for people with disabilities, but for society as a whole.
